OutdoorMaps - the app with swisstopo and many more offline-maps, compass, tracks and POI.
OutdoorMaps is the leading app for hikers, mountain climbers, mountain bikers, cyclists, inline skaters and other outdoor enthusiasts. A rich offer of free maps (MapQuest, Outdoors, OpenCycleMap, Landscape, Hike & Bike, Terrain, Norway, Finland and more) is bundled with this app. Additional popular high quality maps by swisstopo, featuring the official Swiss hiking trails, are available as extra subsciptions. Load your existing tracks in GPX format and continue to use them in OutdoorMaps. The app supports recording new tracks in the background while you are underway. Mark your own points of interest (POI) or use the app's powerful search to find relevant POIs. Share your favorite tracks with your friends right within the app. Maps and tracks may be downloaded for offline use, independent of an internet connection. Self-rotating maps based on an integrated compass and moving maps tracking your GPS position make it very easy to navigate outdoors. OutdoorMaps is running on Windows 8 desktop, laptop and tablet PCs as well as smartphones.

Good Offline Maps. Memory Leak? by Philip
Great for tablets with no cellular data. Download maps while on WiFi and still use the maps when disconnected from the Internet. It took me a while to find out how to delete tiles that have been downloaded, but the feature is there. Also, memory usage keeps climbing as I use the app and it starts to get leggy after a while. Have to close it periodically. I smell a memory leak.

Great on PC, what about Mobile? by Gautier
As a swiss citizen and Microsoft product fan this the app to have. However is it planned to bring it to mobile ? In case you wouldn't need some support please get in touch. I'm glad to contribute to a such essential app!

Nice app for off road travel by Brian
Works well, but would like to be able to save map tiles to specific location, for example save to SD card.

Holds promise by Ronnie
I'm pretty impressed with the layout of the app. There are some improvements needed thought. A better compass calibration method would be nice. As it is now, I'm not sure if it is pointing north or what. GPS location is off on average of 100yds. The App needs more options in the settings section. Like having the choice of imperial instead of metric measurement and maybe a different coordinate system like degrees, minutes and seconds. More maps like USGS topo and a good aerial map option, preferably Bing aerials would be nice to. And having the ability to download for offline use would be great. The Two best things that you have going for your app is the layout and its cross platform capability. I would easily pay $30 for your app with these improvements, additions and the ability of having it on 3 devices.
