Description
Windows DVD Player for Windows 10 makes it easy to watch your favorite DVDs. Watch both commercial and homemade discs in the DVD-Video format. This app requires a DVD-capable optical drive. Note: This app does not play Blu-ray discs.
IMPORTANT: Use the 7-day free trial (Windows 10 Anniversary update required) to check your device's compatibility with Windows DVD Player and then buy the app for the full viewing experience. You cannot watch movies with the free trial.

Microsoft Can Shove it. by Scott
It's complete and utter garbage that we have to pay for a DVD player when literally EVERY laptop I have ever owned would let me play DVDs through Windows Media Player. Corporate greed at it's finest. Making the common man furious just so we have to spend that extra $14.99.

Why do I have to pay again to watch a movie?? by Hilary
This is not a review of the app. This is a review of Microsoft. Why are the computers with dvd drives more expensive? Did I not pay for the ability to play dvds? Now I have to pay again, go through all these hoops just to watch a movie that I already bought. All the dvd apps in the app store cost more than most dvds anyway, and then I have to sign in with an account, put in my credit card info... Gone are the days when you could just pop a dvd into the disc drive and watch the movie. I just can't believe how un-user-friendly this is. Playing dvds from your already over-priced computer should be free AND easy. This seems like common sense to me. Update: This is worse than I thought it would be. It only worked for one movie. It now cheerily asks, "insert a DVD to play something." I just bought this DVD brand new. There should be no issues. I would love a refund and I'll use it to go buy a $10 DVD player on Craigslist.

Microsoft Corporate Greed by Everett
Windows Media Player for years has played DVD's and now with Windows 10 Microsoft removed it from Windows Media Player and charges $14 for this feature, which should be standard, this is BS... Should be free or at worst $1 or with adds and with option to upgrade to premium to remove adds. This just shows how greedy Microsoft has become just like Apple.... great job....
