Description

The approach used is based on cognitive-behavioral therapy and yogic abdominal breathing (Pranayama). The main screen presents you with a circle with a disc in the center. To begin, put your finger on the disc and gently inhale through the nose into your lower belly. The circles will expand whilst holding the center and breathing in. When the peak is reached hold your breath for a moment or longer. Then release your finger and fully exhale through the mouth. Wait a few moments before taking another breath so as to gain the maximum calming effect and prevent hyperventilating. Start over again and continue until you are calm. It’s recommended you use the app on a regular basis for maximum effect. Further information on the use of the app can be found on the About page. Focusing on breathing whilst tap-and-holding will help regain mental balance, regulate emotions, and reduce stress. The newly added scheduled live tile and toast notifications will help reduce your base level of stress and anxiety by reminding you throughout the day to take a few moments to breathe. To make you comfortable with this technique, practice it for at least five minutes twice a day. Nice app to help you regain some calm. I suggest a sound playing after the in breath too so you can do this reliably with your eyes closed (having to worry about counting takes away from immersion)

I gave this four stars because it functions as advertised except the schedule setting don't work. It doesn't start or end on the set time nor does it happen at the set frequency .

Simple and effective. A lifesaver at this point in my life, I have bipolar and anxiety disorders and am not medicated due to pregnancy. I am going through a considerable amount of stress, and while I dont get to use this app as much as I'd like, I use it as much as I possibly can and it helps a lot. The sounds are calming.
