Description

Note: To use this app, please go to Settings on your Windows Phone. This app will NOT appear in your list of installed apps. Contacts + Message Backup app is a Settings app that enables you to make backup of all your contacts (in VCF format) and messages (SMS & MMS including attachments) to SD card (in XML format) for later restore to same or another Windows Phone. Backup is stored in 'backup+restore' folder on the SD card. Known Issue: Restoring a backup of messages from a dual SIM Windows Phone restores all messages to message store for the first SIM/slot.

Crashes and never backs up anything by Todd
I wish Microsoft would read these reviews and fix this issue. This is not a game where I cannot complete a level This is my business and personal data being put at risk. I am using a 950XL and it crashes while backing up contacts. It crashes backing up contacts at about 80 of 4100 contacts. Update July 5 2017. This program is still garbage. It only starts half of the time. When it does start it then crashes while looking for things to back up. Never backs up anything. Found another program to back up contacts. Cannot find any way to backup sms text messages.

Not working after upgrade to Windows 10 by Balu
This was working fine with Windows 8.1 only. After I upgraded my phone to windows 10 it's not working. It automatically closing after few contacts. And it's not compatible with windows 10. Please upgrade all the 8.1 apps to Windows 10 apps asap. Please don't remove the apps which are popular in Windows Mobile 8.1 like the fm radio app. With out useful apps why we need to use Windows Phones. Thanks..

Crashing after backing up 323 of 833 contacts by Hossam
Need the ability to uninstall and reinstall a fresh copy of this application, or give us an update ASAP. Otherwise the application is OK if the above mentioned problem is not exist.

What about Lumia 920, 930... there's no SD in these devices. There should be option to save file to internal storage or OneDrive.

Crashes on MMS by Alex
When backing up MMS it crashes and saves no files. SMS and contacts work perfectly. Please update to have a log file to diagnose the bad message or something! Also, does not keep the screen on on Lumia 920 so it will never finish without constant babysitting. Also, also, uploading of files to OneDrive for transfer to another phone is VERY non-intuitive. This is an exceptionally useful app! Please update it!
