Description
Taking calculus? Then you need the Wolfram Calculus Course Assistant. This definitive app for calculus—from the world leader in math software—will help you work through your homework problems, ace your tests, and learn calculus concepts. Forget canned examples! The Wolfram Calculus Course Assistant solves your specific Calculus problems on the fly including step-by-step guidance for derivatives, integrals, and much more.
This app covers the following topics applicable to Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, Calculus I, and Calculus II:
- Evaluate any numeric expression or substitute a value for a variable. - Plot basic, parametric, or polar plots of the function(s) of your choice. - Determine the limit of a function as it approaches a specific value. - Differentiate any function or implicit function. - Find the critical points and inflection points of a function. - Identify the local and absolute extrema of a function. - Integrate a function, with or without limits. - Sum a function given a lower and upper bound. - Find the closed form of a sequence or generate terms for a specific sequence.
The Wolfram Calculus Course Assistant is powered by the Wolfram|Alpha computational knowledge engine and is created by Wolfram Research, makers of Mathematica—the world's leading software system for mathematical research and education.
The Wolfram Calculus Course Assistant draws on the computational power of Wolfram|Alpha's supercomputers over a 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi connection.

Requires internet, restrictive input, not worth the $$ by Unknown
First off, this app is just a "skin" that sends your queries to the Wolfram Alpha servers. So if you lose internet access, this app won't work at all. Second, it's not very flexible in terms of inputs. The onscreen keyboard might be okay if you have a touchscreen, but this sucks if you want to use a traditional keyboard. To type in "sin(x)" you must click the "sin" button on the screen, because it will not let you type the letters in individually (can't have an "s" since that is not one of the allowed variables). While this app is at least flexible enough to allow a few common variables other than "x" (like "r", "t", and theta), the input is so frustrating that a student will spend too much time learning the quirks of the app and less time learning. As a Mathematica user, I am very disappointed in this app. Give us a "Mathematica-lite" engine so it will run offline and allow full keyboard input.

Does as advertized by Georges
There is a learning curve, but it's not that difficult to use. Of course it requires internet because it uses the Wolfram Alpha engine.

I keep getting the message: Wolfram Calculus Asst does not understand your input. But no other info is asked for, only $2.99, but not worth it.

Greatest Calculus App I've ever used. by nicholas
The programming is genius, almost every calculus principle is covered in depth, detailed steps are given on how the problems are solved. Definitely worth the money if you are in any level of calculus, even if you are just needing to quickly verify an answer to a problem.

Crap by Tom
Has not given a single proper answer yet, especially on parametrics. Don't waste your money.

Perfect for any AP Calculus class. Only thing is that its a tad slow to compute, but other than that perfect and saves me time!
