7Z Opener

I like several things about this app. It's super simple. Unzipped files are easy to find. It even looks pretty. But there's one HUGE flaw in it that makes it a quick delete from my computer. Once you unzip a file, you can't use it because "This file is in use by another program"...that program? 7zip opener! That alone isn't a major problem, right? Just close the app and then access the files you just unzipped. Unfortunately, this app KEEPS RUNNING even when you close it, meaning that every time you use it, you have to go to Task Manager and manually shut it down if you want to access the stuff you just unzipped. Phenomenal waste of time and the reason this app is getting deleted right now.

The Pros: -It works well. -It looks good. -It tells you what is going on. -It closes when its done. More Pros: -Its free. -Nothing to complain about.

Ridiculous app that NEVER ONCE worked --does not unzip anything!! I cannot believe this app is allowed to be in the store. I am beginning to hate my new Windows 8 Dell Laptop because of the unbelievably terrible apps in the windows store---worthless!! I want it uninstalled, don't even care about the money I paid--I just want this APP OFF of my computer and that seems to be impossible to do---this must be a scam or malware.

The app is very slow at unzipping files. I tested this app versus the official 7zip file opener on the same files, and this app took 20+ minutes to extract files that 7zip was extracting in 3-4 seconds. Additionally, this app will not work in the background - you have to sit and watch it or it will not extract anything. These two things alone make this application nearly unusable. Also, everything extracts to the downloads folder in a subfolder called 7Zip Opener. The app does not allow you the option of selecting where to extract your files to.

I don't see any notice that the non-Pro version limits the unzipping speed, but it is very slow.

This does what it says it does but that is not the problem. The files cannot be deleted, even with administrator status and it gets very frustrating. You always have to have the app open up and even after closing it through the Task Manager, it opens up again and the files cannot be deleted. It's worthless because of this! Just get 7Zip.
