Description
42S is a Windows Phone port of Thomas Okken's excellent Free42, a complete re-implementation of the highly praised HP-42S RPN scientific calculator. Thomas' original code was written from scratch, without using any HP code or using any ROM images, yet it is fully HP-42S compatible. This calculator provides all the functionality of the original HP-42S including several hundred built-in functions, extensive programmability, and printer output emulation.

A trial mode is offered with the following restrictions: - Programs, registers and calculator state are not saved - One digit after the decimal point is displayed correctly with remaining digits struck out - Trial notice will pop up every two minutes
Version 1.18 - Fixed bug where inserting END from catalog or XEQ "END" into a program caused app to crash. - Adjusted incorrect key sizing on 9 and divide keys
Version 1.17 - Implemented program import and export functions using SkyDrive
Version 1.16 - Increased key hit areas to include entire area surrounding key faces to prevent possible missed key presses. - Allow for large-size tile.
Version 1.15 - Windows Phone 8 release - Fixed Lumia 920 and WP8 compatibility issues due to WP8 display event ordering - Adapted screens for multiple resolutions available in WP8 - Removed splash screen since WP8 has much faster startup times - Added WP8 app list icon transparency (gets theme color)

I was disappointed to discover that there are only three levels to the stack. A free RPN calculator has far more, so I am surprised that an app that cost $5 was so severely lacking. If this was mentioned in the documentation, I didn't see it. Hopefully, this will be resolved in a future update.

I have learned that it does do hex computations...so it gets a 5. Terrific calculator...now I don't have to carry my original HP-42s
