Halo Wars 2

The game itself is quite good, and extremely enjoyable. However, the windows store platform is complete garbage and refuses to work. Currently my 10gb download is stopping every 2mb, which means I have to pause the download and then play it again to get another 2mb, and so on.

Season Pass doesn't even include all the DLC. Early adopters were screwed out of their money. Shame on you Microsoft.

Great improvement to Halo Wars 1, fast paced, challenging, demanding, and actually takes strategy. Well done. Also, all lag I previously had was fixed by the recent patch. Runs perfectly.

*11/8/17* Supposed cross-play added 9 months after launch, after stated it couldn't be done before because the "game engine", ouch. They screwed $80 Ultimate owners hard. It's gone, replaced with a $60 "complete version" hah. Ouch 343.. just ouch *2/21/17 * I was gifted Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition, and have access to all the stuff so far, yet the windows store tells me I don't own the Ultimate. I was really really bummed this didn't have cross play, blaming the game engine for it was horrendous, shame on these devs! *3/6/17* Now it says I don't own Ultimate on Xbox or PC, <3 you 343 & MSFT *4/27/17* Colony up finally, late again, not a good track record here. Again, blaming MSFT cert process..

I love the overall game as well as the DLCs coming out for it however I felt the story was short and of course did not really end at a good stopping point. The multiplayer is fun and the game modes make that. I'd like to see new maps soon and maybe some how some additions to the story mode. New missions. Other than that best Halo game since Reach.

I've been waiting for the sequel and was not disappointed by the story. The controls don't feel as intuitive as the original but I'm playing on PC instead of xbox so maybe that matters. The multiplayer lagged a bit and it can be difficult to find matches in some modes. The story was well thought out, a lot better than the recent additions to the main Halo line. I absolutely hate the Prometheans, they're not fun to fight and I don't think their weapons are very original either and was glad they were not in this installment. Though, this type of game play wouldn't have been terrible with them in it. Hope to see more games from the Halo Wars saga, love the Spirit of Fire and crew. Wouldn't mind seeing the lore spread to more mediums as well.

Love the game. Lots of things about the game are really fun. One drawback for a PC player is that the player base is thin. I would love more people from Xbox to swing over to PC.
