It's not bad until you get to level 70. Then your "level-appropriate" enemies can easily kill you in any and every battle, and to try to go elsewhere to level up would take years instead of days. Each one of them can do up to 2/3 of your hp in damage every turn, and to heal yourself in battle (and otherwise) is very expensive, draining your magic. To get 1/45 of the required experience to level up, I had already used up my cleric's mana. To try to find better weapons and armor at that point is also difficult. I had bought everything the town had w/ my gems. So instead of weapons + armor, the forest clearings have gems instead of useful stuff. Also, the townsfolk apparently are completely oblivious to what your party does. At one point, a town is getting attacked by a dragon and you're their only hope. So you kill it and everyone is still saying how dire their situation is and they won't last much longer, despite the fact that the very thing attacking the town is now dead.

Great game, but I hate the fact that you can't save state anywhere you go. It doesn't make sense for a phone game. If this were a gaming console that would be one thing, but if I get a phone call or email or text message, I shouldn't be forced to return to my last save point.

This game is over all enjoyable. The mechanics are good, gameplay is true to the 80s -90s style rpg. The only really annoying thing about the free version is that you sometimes touch the advertisement bar. This takes you out of the game, when you go back in it is to the title screen. All unsaved progress lost. The advertisements are understandable for the free version, no complaints about that. The paid version would get 4 stars only BC the storyline is a little lacking. All in all a fun game.

I have heavily enjoyed this game for the past couple days and I am very impressed with it thus far. It reminds me of the dragon age games I had for the game boy color and it is really a great game. I can't wait to beat it so I can move on to dragons blade 2. But until then I'll enjoy the adventure while it lasts. Thank you for perfectly capturing the image of old school rpgs, and releasing it for free for many to enjoy.
