Pleasant Surprise by Garren
Was glad I found this little gem today. Nice little turn based RPG. Looks like it is quite expandable with downloadable adventures which appear to be free.

Basic dungeon crawler fun by Rick
Remember Hero Quest? Still, it could be better, including the English. A few typos here and there too, along with some minor bugs, I.E., purchased weapons don't display in game, so you end up in what looks like a fist fight, in scenario. Overall, the graphics and dungeons are stellar! And you can make your own with a nifty scenario editor.. Great job guys! BTW, It's not %100 free - it's a buck 49.

Fun But Flawed Game by Arkansas
Arcane Quest is a fun and engaging dungeon crawling rpg that is handicapped by both major and minor flaws. The graphics are good. The game play is nicely balanced, being challenging but not too difficult. This game works well for those moments when you want light, non-strenuous diversions. Sadly, the game's own mechanics keep it from being as great as it should be. Some issues are minor, like the fact that every time you save, you have to exit the game and then reload it. That may sound trivial but after you've had to do it a dozen times, it gets irritating. There are more serious flaws. Each time you move to a new dungeon, your characters lose everything they gained previously. Nor do they seem to advance in any way. The heart of role playing games is developing your characters as they gain experience and improve their skills. In Arcane Quest, there is no character growth or development at all. For this old rpg player, that is a heart breaker right there.
